Our Thailand Missions Rep—- Seanna!

Every week Seanna comes into our room to help us. She works with small groups, plays games with us, prepares activities for us and loves on us, and now we get an opportunity to love on her.

Seanna is heading to Thailand as part of our Missions team this Spring Break. We would love to support her!

In past years students have brought in different school and hygiene items, but this year the team is hoping to purchase items IN Thailand as a way to additionally support the community there.

Can you help Seanna help the children she meets in Thailand by donating some finances to her? Every little bit helps and will go SO far in Thailand.  Monetary donations can be sent in the student’s folders, just be sure to mark Thailand or Seanna on them.

Additionally we would love to bless Seanna with some treats and special things for her airplane ride. If you would like to pick up a little treat or book, or have your child write her a note, please send those in as well and we will put together a little care package for her.

Thanks so much for helping us love on this lovely lady!

Eye surgery – part 2

Hi Everyone!

I thought I would let you know that next Thursday I will be going in for my second eye surgery.  I will be away from the classroom until March 11.  Mrs. Wilms will be covering for me in the classroom and we have been fortunate to have her volunteer in our classroom a number of times so she is not a stranger to us.  I have a number of fun activities planned for my absence, and I am sure the children will enjoy spending time with her.  Please help her, especially at pick up time, as she won’t know which people belong to which students.

Thanks so much!

Let’s Shrink Wrap Mr. Morris!

Let’s Shrink Wrap Mr. Morris!

Mr. Morris has a challenge for the Highroad community. If we can raise $5000.00 for the beautification project before Feb. 22, he will volunteer to be shrink wrapped to the red post at the front of the school during the morning greeting time on Friday, Feb. 22. Donation cut off is Thursday, Feb. 21 at midnight. You can donate at the school office, or online (highroadacademy.com/product/donate) to this excellent cause of seeing our Principal ‘hang around’ the morning of the 22!

100 Day on Tuesday!!

Well, Tuesday we are celebrating our 100th day of school, even though now, thanks to 2 snow days, it is actually only day 99! I wanted to make sure that the parents who have rearranged their schedules to come in and help will still get to do that.

So, here are your reminders for Tuesday-

Dress: students are invited to dress up according to how they think they will look when they are 100. If you need some ideas, pinterest has quite a few.

If your child doesn’t want to dress up, they will need to wear their uniform, and that’s okay too. Please continue to ensure your child is dressed for outside weather as well. I am more than happy to spend extra time bundling them up to go out.

Snack Items: if you signed up to bring something for our 100 day trail mix snack and haven’t already brought it in, please make sure you send it on Tuesday. Thanks!

Dressing for the Weather

Hi Parents!

Please ensure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  It is fun to go outside and play in the little snow we have, but some of us would be warmer if we had everything we needed.  If your daughter is wearing her tunic dress to school, please ensure she has warm tights, and possibly pants to put on over top for going outside.  It’s just too cold out for bare legs.  Gloves, mitts, toques, and scarves would also be helpful, as would a pair of warm boots.

Email Problem

Hi Everyone, I am currently having difficulty sending emails to you.  If you have emailed me and are awaiting a response I can assure you I HAVE answered, but because of a technical difficulty, you have not received my reply.  Our tech department is looking into things for us and we hope to have it resolved quickly.  I am still able to receive emails, from what I can see, but am being notified that my emails to you are not going through.
