Kindie Grad Info For You

Well, now that our field trip is over we can turn our full attention to KINDIE GRAD!

Here is what you need to know:

Please deliver the item or items you have signed up to bring on Monday, June 17 so that we can have everything ready for our big celebration.

Kindie Grad is on June 18.

Your child will be wearing a white graduation gown.  They will need to wear something underneath it.  It doesn’t matter to me what that is, as long as it will not make them too warm.  Also, the gowns don’t go all the way down to the ground, so you may want to keep that in mind.  Students do not need to wear their uniform that day. Please also note, your child will be wearing a “graduation cap.”  We ask that you keep that in mind when styling hair in the morning.

You will need to drop off your child in the morning at the classroom, like usual.  When the bell rings, we will be getting ready for the big event and you can go to the chapel and find a seat.  The celebration begins at 9:30 and the program should be over by 10:30.  We will follow the program with a time of fellowship and snacks in the church foyer.

At the end of Kindie Grad, your child is free to go with you.  They may take their graduation cap but must leave the gown behind.

I think that’s everything!  Feel free to invite family and friends 🙂

We Had A Great Day!

We had such a great day today and the weather turned out to be just perfect.  Thank you to all of you who came to join us for different parts of the day.  I know it’s not always easy to fit these things in, but the children definitely appreciate it when you can.

Here are some pictures from our day (please note: Pigeon joined us on our field trip and to his, and the students’ delight, his dream came true and HE GOT TO DRIVE THE BUS!!)

Primary Fun Day- Volunteers Needed!

Hi Parents!

Every year we like to end our school year with a primary fun day!  This will be on Wednesday, June 19 and will run from 9:15-11:45.  I am looking for two parent volunteers to help run centres.  My centres this year will be Camping Bingo and supervising free time on the playground.  Students will cycle through and only be at each centre for about 10 minutes.  If you are free to help that morning, could you let me know please?

Get Air Waiver- Parents TOO!!

I just received an email from Get Air Abby and ALL of our children who are attending have a waiver filled out- thank you!

The manager just informed me that any parents/ adults who will be onsite also need to fill out the waiver.  Please do so if you haven’t already to make things go more smoothly on Monday.

She also included some safety reminders.  We will go over these in class, but if you could also stress these at home, that would be great.

A couple of important rules for the kids!!

ZERO RUNNING!!! There is no running anywhere in the building. This is highly dangerous and could cause injuries.

No double bouncing – This is when two people are jumping on the same trampoline.  Every trampoline is one jumper at a time. The same goes for the surfboard, fidget ladder and the foam pits.

The Ninja course and basketball is also one at a time.

No food or drinks are allowed on the trampoline deck (this is where the trampolines are). But they are more than welcome to have a snack and drink in the lobby.

Field Trip Monday- Things to Remember

Monday June 10th is our year end field trip to Get Air Abby and then to the Garrison Spray Park.  We are praying for nice weather!  We will be leaving the school at 9:30 and returning before the bell at the end of the day.  If you have your criminal record check done and would like to join us, we would love to have you.  We should have some room on the bus for some extra parents.  Parents if you are coming, could you please help us keep an eye on all of kindies?  We always want our students to be safe and could certainly use your help in that!

We will NOT be coming back to the school in between activities.  Your child will need to bring everything they need for the day in their backpack when we leave in the morning.  They will need:

*lunch and snack

*water bottle

*easy shoes that they can get on and off themselves

*bathing suit

*towel

*sunscreen (if you are concerned about the sun)

Please do not send toys along on the field trip

Home Reading Books

Calling all home reading books!  Please return all home reading books this Wednesday.  No more books will be sent home.  I can’t believe the time has come to wrap up our year.  Thank you for investing in your child’s reading.  I encourage you to continue to read with them, practice sight words with them and keep the ball rolling through the summer.  They have all come so far!

Kindie Grad

Kindie Grad is coming up quickly and we love to end our celebration with some snacks and refreshments.  I will have a signup sheet outside the classroom.  Could you please take a look at what we are in need of and sign up for something that works for you?  We are asking that all items be brought to school on June 17 in a manner ready to serve (for example, no whole watermelons!)  Thanks so much!
