We Made It!

Yay!  We made it to the end of the first week of kindergarten and I would say it has been a great week.  Today we were all feeling a bit tired and I am sure the weekend will be very much appreciated by all!

In the chaos of our morning I forgot that Mr. Hancock had purchased popsicles for us to have in celebration of our first week back.  We will have them sometime next week instead.  My apologies for that.

I have been enjoying getting to know your children and you as well.  There is so much for them to learn about school and so much for me to learn about them.  Please be patient with all of us as we settle into our new routines together.  Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help your child on their learning journey.

Freshgrade Update

Thank you to all of you who responded to my email and commented that you are receiving the blog.  A number of you expressed that you are having issues with the freshgrade folder and for that, I apologize. Freshgrade is something I have used for the past 2 years to give you, the parents, personalized photos, videos and more of your individual child and I love doing it. This year, however, Freshgrade is working on updating some things and it seems they are having some difficulties.  I spent an hour participating in a Freshgrade webinar this evening and still have a number of unanswered questions. It may take until the end of September for things to smooth out.  I will be posting things in faith that at some point, you will be able to access ALL of the amazing things your child has been up to.

Again, thank you for your patience!  It will be worth it when it works!

This week’s reminders

It was so nice to meet all of you today!  Thank you for coming in and spending the hour with us this morning.  Here are a few reminders for you about the rest of this week:

The first bell rings at 8:55.  Students will say goodbye to you and come in the classroom to begin our day.  Please make sure they have their back and forth folder, a water bottle and a snack for the day.

For this week only pick up will be at noon.  No lunch will be needed this week.

Students will not need gym shoes or pillows until next week but can bring them and leave them in their lockers this week if they would like.

Tomorrow we will be reading The Kissing Hand story and talking about our feelings and just so the students know you love them even when you are not in the classroom with them, they will have this to remind them:
