Kindie Korner Adventures

Library Fundraisers

Hi families!  We have 2 very tasty fundraisers going on for our Library! Your kiddos can send in a dollar to guess how many starbursts are in the jar and have a chance to win the whole container full of sweets!

The other fundraiser we will be doing is a SinAmen Bun Co order.  Please check your child’s back and forth folder later this week for the order form for that.  If you have never had a cinnamon bun from them, you are missing out!  Thanks for your generous support!

Earthquake Drill Today

Today we had an earthquake drill.  We had a mini science lesson on tectonic plates and how the heat pushes up on the plates causing them to move which makes earthquakes happen.  We then practiced what to do with our bodies to stay safe and then when the drill happened, we were ready!

We followed directions calmly and did such a great job, even Mr Morris came to commend us!  Contrary to what some of the kindies were saying, the earth did NOT actually shake during the drill!

Expected/ Unexpected Behavior

As part of our Zones of Regulation Curriculum, we had a lesson this morning on expected and unexpected behavior.  I demonstrated some unexpected behaviors with the help of Mrs Heiti.  Some of us thought that I was silly or crazy, but some of us were able to say that they didn’t like it.  We are beginning to talk about how our behavior choices can affect the way others feel.  Ask your child about all the crazy things I did today!

We also watched a couple of short videos of a man doing things aggressively, and we all decided we are very thankful that Mr. Jackson doesn’t vacuum our school like the man in the video vacuumed!

Field Trip Tomorrow

Just a reminder that we are going on our field trip tomorrow- the weather does NOT look promising.

Please make sure your child dresses appropriately.  Boots, jackets, hats, gloves- all the things!  And if you think they may want a change of clothes to change into when we get back, feel free to send something along for that too.

Comfort Kits and Mornings

Just a reminder that Comfort Kits are due.  I am missing a number of them and need to get the bin put away.  Please have your child’s Comfort Kit in by the end of this week.

Also, your kiddos should be coming in to the school independently now.  I was SO impressed with how well they did this morning!  They can do this!  Thank you for encouraging them and helping them grow!

Because we only had 2 school days last week to work on our verse we will continue with our “b” verse and I will be asking the students to say the verse next Tuesday.
