Empty Toilet Paper Rolls Please!

We are hoping to do a special activity with our buddies next Tuesday.  If you have any empty toilet paper rolls that you could send to school, that would be much appreciated!

Thank you!

Forest Friday

This Friday we will be heading out on the bus to spend some time in the forest.  Please ensure your child has warm, dry boots, socks (maybe an extra pair for when we get back) and a warm jacket.  Toques and gloves are also a good idea!

Looking forward to another Fresh Air Friday in the forest!

It’s a Wet Wet World!

Thank you to everyone who has sent their child with snow pants/ muddy buddies/ snow boots etc.  It is SO incredibly wet in the snow on the playground.  Today we had a number of friends (so many that I actually lost count) who came in from outside at first recess with soaking wet socks- the wet had gone right through their boots somehow.  It’s a long, cold day with no socks!  Please, if you can, send an extra pair of socks, or two or three!

Thanks so much!

Volunteers Needed!

We have two really exciting days coming up to celebrate in Kindergarten and we would love to have some extra sets of hands in the classroom to make these days possible- Valentine’s Day, and our 100 day celebration!

I am looking for some volunteers for Valentine’s Day (Wednesday Feb 14 from 10:15-12) and some volunteers for our 100 day celebration which will be on Monday February 26 from 1-2:45.

If you are willing and able to come and spend some time with us in the classroom on one, or both of these special days, please let me know.  Please note- classroom volunteers are required to have a criminal record check on file at the office.

Thank you so much for helping make our days in Kindie extra special!

We missed our cozy day last Wednesday, so it has been rescheduled to this Wednesday.  Students can wear cozy clothes to school instead of their uniforms.

Winter Gear

As we return to school and the weather is improving and warming up, please note that the bark mulch most likely still has quite a bit of snow on it (I haven’t checked, but in past years this has been the case).  Kindies are supposed to stay on the bark mulch during play time and will most likely end up quite wet.  Please consider sending snow pants or splash pants to school for your child as well as boots.

Thanks!

New Direction

We will be starting something new next week.  On Tuesdays we will be starting some new Literacy Centres.  One of these centres will be reading groups.  If your child has a phonogram key ring at home still, or home reading books that were sent to you from Mrs Wilson, could you please return them?  We will not be doing this home program anymore and will be trying these new Literacy Centres instead.
