Kindie Korner Adventures

Brrrrr!!!

Well today sure was chilly!! Thank you for sending your children to school with appropriate gear for the weather. At first recess I gave the students the choice to stay in or go outside if they were bundled up- they ALL chose to go out!

What a learning experience! It was COLD!

When the students came back in, not one complained about the cold and we spent some time at the carpet learning about how penguins stay warm. It really IS warm in the middle of the huddle!

Students were not invited to go out for lunch play time as that play time is significantly longer.

Please remember to send warm clothes for the rest of this cold snap- the children will do love the opportunity to play outside!

Adopt a Polar Bear!

We are now wrapping up our inquiry into polar bears.  We have learned so much about what amazing creatures these are and how God has created them to live in the cold arctic.  We have also been learning that we can play a part in helping preserve the arctic habitat of the polar bears by planting more trees, putting less pollution in the air, and using less hot water.  We also have the opportunity to come together as a class and “adopt” a polar bear!

Through organizations like WWF Canada, and Polar Bears International, people can symbolically adopt a polar bear, helping scientists continue to work on preserving these majestic creatures.  If each child brings $1 or $2 to school we can pool our money together to adopt a polar bear as a class.  Would you consider doing that with us?  I would like to complete the adoption process by next Friday, February 8.

Full Dress Cancelled for next Wednesday

Full Dress Uniform will be cancelled for next Wednesday, February 6th due to cold weather.  We are expecting colder than normal temperatures and want to ensure our children are warm outside.  Please keep that in mind when they are preparing for school in the mornings.  Warm gloves, hats, winter coats, boots and maybe even an extra layer on their legs, may be helpful.
