Kindie Korner Adventures

Family Traditions

As we move into December we are going to begin looking at different family Christmas traditions.  If you have a tradition that you do with your family every Christmas season, especially if it is one that originates from another country or culture, we would love to learn about it!

Please fill out the Family Traditions slip of paper that I am sending home and return it to school before Friday so I can look at planning some fun, festive, meaningful Christmas Around the World Traditions during the last 2 weeks of school before Christmas break.

Gingerbread Fun

Next week Wednesday we are going to have some fun with Gingerbread!  I am looking to have a parent send in a small container of white icing and another parent to send in some festive sprinkles that we can use to decorate our cookies with.  If you are willing to send something in please let me know as soon as possible either by posting on here, or by emailing me.  I am hoping to have these things brought in on Monday (even though we won’t be using them until Wednesday).

Thanks!

EDIT*** Icing is being taken care of 🙂  Thank you Molly!

Today we watched this video about kindness and have decided to be Kindie Kindness Ninjas.  Take a look and see how many different acts of kindness you can spot.  How can we show kindness to those we see?  We loved this video!

Continue learning “I” memory verse

Today was a crazy day in kindie and we didn’t get around to hearing the students say their memory verses.  Please continue to practice the current verse with them and we will ask them next Wednesday.

“If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.”

This Is Why We Need Boots

This is what our bark mulch area currently looks like.  It’s quite soggy, saturated and muddy.  If you aren’t already sending boots along to school with your child, could you please consider doing so?  And an extra pair of socks wouldn’t hurt either 🙂  It’s a lot of fun, but REALLY messy!!

Playground + Rain = Mud

Hi everyone

We have been noticing with all the rain that the “mud factor” has increased exponentially on the bark mulch.  Today after playing in the sun at lunch time, I had a number of students return back to class needing to change.  Not all of them had something to change into.  Please consider allowing your child to keep a pair of school pants, shirt, socks and undies at school for emergencies.  We had some tears today.  I also noticed a number of students came today without jackets or boots.  When we went out at recess the rain was dripping quite heavily and the bark mulch is so soggy that feet got wet whether students were in puddles intentionally or not.  Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for our crazy “Wet Coast” weather.

Thanks!

Magazines?

Hi everyone!

I am looking for some old magazines that you might have around the house that we could use for a project at school next week.  If you have some, would you be able to send them to school on Monday please?  You would need to be okay with us cutting them up and not returning them.   Thanks!

Family Photo Reminder

Reminder:

Students have been asked to bring a family photo to class by tomorrow, November 18 that could potentially stay here for a while as we talk about our family trees.  At this point I have only had 2 photos arrive.  Please don’t forget to send one along tomorrow!
