Parent Teacher Interviews Tomorrow

Hi Everyone!

As we prepare to meet tomorrow to chat about all the wonderful things your kiddos are doing in Kindergarten I wanted to touch base.

If you chose option 1 and are planning to come in to the school to meet with me, please remember that you should plan to wait in your vehicle until your appointment time.  No additional children should be attending with you as we are trying to minimize the number of people in the building.

If chose option 2 and are planning to meet with me online, I will be emailing you a link in the morning to our Google Meet session.  Please be mindful of the time and join when your meeting is supposed to begin, not earlier as I may be in a meeting with another parent already.  If you haven’t used Google Meets before and are planning to join in from your computer:

  1. Go to meet.google.com.
  2.  Click Use a meeting code.
  3. Enter the code and click Continue.
  4. Click Ask to join.
  5. When your request to join has been granted, you will be added to the meeting.

Please look in your email in the morning for the link.  If you haven’t received it by 9 am, please check your junk folder.  Feel free to email me if troubles arise.  See you tomorrow!

Layers

Hi Everyone!

In an effort to keep the air flowing in our classroom we are keeping the window open as much as possible during the day.  As I sit in here this morning with the window open I am noticing it feels a tad chilly.  Please send your child with a Highroad Academy zip up (these are navy) or a navy cardigan that they could wear in case they are feeling cold.

Along a similar vein, the weather has grown colder and students will continue to go outside.  Please be sure they have warm clothing to wear!

Memory Verse- due tomorrow

This week we don’t have school on Wednesday so I will be asking the students to say their memory verse tomorrow- it is very simple this week:

“God is love.” 1 John 4:8

Please take some time to help them learn this, including the reference.  It shouldn’t be too tough this week!

Families

Hi parents!

We have begun talking about our community this month and have moved into a section where we are learning about our families.  Could you help us out?  I would love to have each student bring a photo of their family to show the class (one that could potentially stay at school for a little while).  Could you please send one in by next Wednesday, November 18?

Thank you!

Phonogram Update

We have now been introduced to all 26 of the single letter phonograms!  We will spend the next number of weeks practicing their sounds and formations as well as looking at the initial sounds in words.  I am hoping the following link will take you to a phonogram video that you can use to help your child practice at home.  Please let me know if you can’t access it, but would like to!
