Kindie Korner Adventures

Next week Full Dress Uniform day will be Tuesday, April 4 for our class photos. Please remember that this means no shorts, or sandals and that cardigans are here for the picture.  The day after, Wednesday, will be a regular uniform day.

Due to a funeral tomorrow afternoon and attendance expected to be extremely high, school will be dismissing at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.  Thanks for your help with this.

Hello Kindie Families!

Over the weeks throughout the last term of school your child will have the opportunity to bring home everyone’s favorite pigeon!

Included with the pigeon are 2 books, and a blue duotang.  If your child brings pigeon home on Monday, please return him on Wednesday.  If your child brings pigeon home on Wednesday, please return him on Friday.  Take some time with your child to read a pigeon book or two!  Your child will need to write in the blue duotang and draw a picture of their adventure together.  Feel free to read about the adventures of some of the other children as well!

It seems a change has been made and pizza day for tomorrow has been reinstated!  YAY!  Feel free to send your pizza orders in, in your child’s folder, as usual!

Good morning parents!  I hope you are all having a great spring break with your families.

As I look ahead to next week I just wanted to send a quick reminder to you that pizza is not available on the first Tuesday back after spring break.  It is not on the Highroad Calendar.  If you usually order pizza for your child on Tuesday, please note that you will need to pack food for your child on that day!

Just a friendly reminder to please pack a spoon in your child’s lunch if you are sending something that requires one.  I am noticing that there are a number of children coming to school each day with no spoon.

Hello everyone!

I can’t believe I am posting something about after spring break already, but here we are!

After Spring Break there are a number of new things that begin in Full Time Kindergarten!  One new thing that I would like to try to implement this year is a home reading/ sight word program.  I am looking for one or two parents or grandparents who would be interested in coming in once a week for approximately one hour and helping me with this.  Duties would include listening to children read to you, going over a group of sight words with students individually and switching out books for the students to take home.  If you are interested in being part of this exciting program, please let me know!  I would love to see this volunteer position take place on Thursday mornings (from 9-10) but I can be somewhat flexible.  I would like to keep the day and time consistent each week, however to make it easier for parents to remember to send in their books.

Please note:  You will need to have your criminal record check done in order to be able to come in and help.

Hi everyone!  Ms. Britz has sent me a list of students who have overdue library books.  I will be putting little slips into your child’s folder if he/she has a book that is needed back in the library.  I think Ms. Britz would like as many books back to the library as possible before spring break.  Please take a look and see if you can find these wayward books.
