Kindie Korner Adventures

Special Guest Author: Highroad’s very own Mrs. Anna Funk!

Today we had the privilege of having Mrs. Funk come in and read her beautiful book “When I was a Mango” to us!  The illustrations are beautiful and the children loved seeing her real-life fruit examples of how big they once were inside their mom’s tummies!

If you are looking for a baby gift or a beautiful keepsake for your child, you can find a copy of it here:

Anybody have a green thumb?

Hi parents!

This may seem like a strange request, but I am looking for someone with a green thumb who may be able to spare an afternoon or a bit of time in the morning some day in the next week or 2.  We have been learning about plants, their parts, and what they need to grow, and I figured we should probably try to grow something.  Well, plants and I are not on good terms so I thought maybe one of you amazing parents would love the opportunity to come in and do some planting with us.  If you think this may be of interest to you, please let me know!

Home Reading Update

Wow wow wow!  I am so amazed at how well the children are doing with their home reading and their popcorn words!  Thank you so much parents for taking the time to sit with your children and read and review these frequently used words.  I am hearing so much excitement from the children as they read in the classroom throughout the day, and they are so pleased with what they are accomplishing!  Keep up the good work!

Grandparents Day photos

Grandparent’s Day was a huge success. Thank you to each of you for passing on the invitations to grandparents and “surrogate” grandparents for the day.  We had so much fun showing our special big people what we have been up to in kindergarten.

Here are some photos of our time together:
