Kindie Korner Adventures

Well, as time draws near, here is a reminder for you about what your kindie’s first week of school will look like:

Tuesday, Sept 4- 9:15-10:15- Parents are to come to kindergarten with their child and remain for the hour to explore the classroom and get comfortable.

Wednesday- Friday- our school days this week start at 8:55 and end at noon.  Please help your child transition in the mornings by being on time and confidently saying goodbye to them in the hall once the bell rings.  They can do this, and so can you!  Reassure them that you will be back in a few short hours to pick them up and you can’t wait to hear all about their fun day!

Please note:  kindergarten students are ALWAYS dismissed from the classroom to a parent or guardian.  Please be ON TIME to pick up your child.  It can cause students unnecessary anxiety to be waiting well beyond the rest of their classmates at the end of the day and that can make drop offs in the morning more difficult.

I am excited to start our learning journey together next week!

Wow!  We are only one week away from the beginning of school!  How has time gone so quickly?  As I mentioned in my blog post last week, you are welcome to stop in and say hello this week if you would like to come in before the first day of school.  I will be unavailable most of the day on Tuesday, and Wednesday morning I have a meeting, but should be in the classroom most other times (unless something comes up, or I am photocopying or something).  Feel free to bring your kindie by if he or she would like.

I hope you all have had a wonderful summer.  My family and I have enjoyed some camping trips and road trips and now we are starting to gear up for the coming school year.  I am looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Next week (August 28-31) I will be on campus and would like you to know that, unless I am in a meeting, my door is open if you would like to come by for a quick visit and peek at our classroom.  I can guarantee it won’t look ready yet, but you are welcome to come and say hello.
