A Big Thank You

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all so much for such a wonderful year. It was an honor to work with your children.  They have each left a lasting impression on my heart.  I will miss them all.

Thank you also for your thoughtful gifts and words of encouragement.  I have been so blessed by you. Your  generosity, kindness, hugs and words of appreciation moved me to tears.

I pray you each have a wonderful summer.

God bless you and your families as you continue to learn and grow together!

Video

If you weren’t able to join us this morning in the classroom, or you were able to be here but would like to rewatch the video I played this morning, I have uploaded it to your child’s Freshgrade folder.

Enjoy!

Last Day Reminders

Just a few reminders/information for you about tomorrow:

Tomorrow is our last day of Kindergarten.  It is a full day.

We are starting our day with one last time for you to come in and participate in Family Reading.  I will also have a little something to show you while you are here (if you can’t make it, don’t fear! I will try to send it home later in the week).  This will take place first thing in the morning.

Tomorrow the students are being invited to wear their Knight wear if they would like to.

See you tomorrow!

Information for the Next 6 Days.

Wow, here we are at the end of our year together.  I wanted to send home some reminders as well as give you some extra information about next week.

This Friday is fun day.  There will be no Family Friday Reading in the morning. Part time Kindie students are welcome to join us for the Fun Day morning.  Pick up for these students would be at noon.  Everyone else will be here for the whole day, as usual.

Next Monday will be BRING A STUFFY TO KINDIE day!  Each student in our class may bring a special stuffy from home to join them for the day.

Next Tuesday is our year end field trip to Go Bananas.  Please make sure children are wearing play clothes and that they have socks.  We will be bringing our lunches and water bottles with us.  Please make sure your childs’ things are labelled with their name.

Next Wednesday I would like to invite you parents into our classroom to join us one last time first thing in the morning as we close out our year together.  We will do some reading together and I have a little something to show you.  (Don’t worry, if you can’t make it, I will send the little something home later in the week for you to see).

There is no Kindergarten on Thursday or Friday of next week.  Wednesday is our last day together.

All Library books are due back to school next week.  Please take a look around your house and return your child’s library books so Mrs Britz can get the Library all wrapped up for the end of the year.

Ishi

Today during Story Workshop we heard the story Ishi by Akiko Yabuki.

Ishi: Simple Tips from a Solid Friend : Yabuki, Akiko: Books

This is a wonderful story about feelings and what we can do when our feelings overwhelm us.  Ishi means Rock in Japanese.  Each child made their own Ishi and some of the students used their Ishi’s to create stories today.

I just thought you might like to see what Ishi is in case your child is talking to you about it!
