Kindie Korner Adventures

Well it seems the cold weather has arrived.  I was outside on lunch duty today and even with my winter jacket,scarf and mittens, I was chilled.  There were a number of children with no mittens or gloves, no hats, boots or scarves.  Please send your children with what they will need to be warm outside.

A number of us practiced huddling together like the penguins do, but that’s not a fun way to spend all of our lunch times.

We are going to be talking about our families and I would love to have a photo of each child’s family to display in our classroom for a few weeks.

On Tuesday next week I am scheduling some time for the children to show us their family photo and tell us about their family members.  Please send a family photo by next Tuesday.

We hope you can come join us on November 10^th at 10:30am for our Remembrance Day Service.  In preparation for this service, we are asking all our Highroad families if they have a special Veteran in their lives that they would share with us.  Please go to Honouring Veterans and upload a photo and story of your special Veteran this week.  We would love to share the photos and stories at our service.

Today I introduced the concept of using our WITS if someone is bothering us.  Each letter of the word WITS stands for a strategy we can use if we aren’t happy about something that is happening to us or near us:

Walk away

Ignore

Talk it out

Seek help

We will be revisiting this concept throughout the year and adding it to what we know about the Zones of Regulation.
