As part of our Language Arts program we are using a program called UFLI. Every once in a while I will be sending home a little update in the students’ back and forth folders about what we have been working on. This program focuses on phonemic awareness, letter names and sounds, blending sounds and building cvc (consonant vowel consonant) words. It also includes words that they refer to as “heart words”- words that include irregular sounds but that pop up in reading and writing a lot. This little update in the folders will provide you with a snapshot of some of the learning we have been doing in class. Feel free to use it as a way to ask your child about UFLI and to see what they can do!
