I am still in need of some more tetra paks of vegetable broth for our soup picnic.  If you haven’t already brought one in, could you consider picking one up for us and sending it to school by Monday?

Just a note to ask you to check in at the office to see how many pizza slices are left on your child’s pizza card.  Some of them are filling up and it would be terrible if your child didn’t get pizza some day!

I have noticed a number of girls wearing leggings under their tunic dresses.  Please remember that leggings are not included in the uniform policy.  I also have noticed a number of girls not wearing navy or black shorts under their tunics.  For modesty’s sake on the playground and while sitting at the carpet, it would be wonderful if the girls could have a little pair of navy or black shorts on under their dresses.

Please try to squeeze in some practice time at home.  It is very evident to me which students have been working at home on their verses and which ones haven’t.  We don’t have a lot of homework in kindergarten so we should have some time to work on learning these words. Thanks for taking some time to help your child.  Even practicing in the car on the way to and from school would be great!

This past weekend the fall leaves sure were beautiful!  I hope you all had a chance to go out and enjoy the beautiful sunshine.  Over the next couple of weeks we will be doing some leaf activities.  If you could bring in some fall leaves for these activities, that would be great.  Leaves that are not yet super crunchy would be best.

Tomorrow, Oct 10 is the beginning of Full Dress Uniform Wednesdays.  This means that, unless otherwise stated, your child needs to wear the following uniform pieces:

Girls- Tunic dress, Peter Pan blouse, navy tights or knee socks, and cardigan

Boys- Navy pants, button up shirt, navy socks and cardigan

Comfort Kits are due this Friday, October 12.  I am still missing 3 of them.  Please make sure you get yours in by Friday.

Parent Teacher Interviews- If you have not already signed up for a Parent Teacher interview, please make sure you do.  This meeting is in lieu of an interim report card.  I have a number of openings between 11:55 and 2:15.  If you can’t make it in to sign up, send me an email and I can add you to the list.

On October 12 the high school is serving us smoothies that they are making themselves!  We are the first class to be blessed with this yummy treat.  Please let me know if your child will not be able to participate in having one. I am told the ingredients in the smoothies will be yogurt, milk and strawberries.  There is no cost for a smoothie.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I pray you have had a wonderful weekend surrounded by loved ones.  I just wanted to send a quick reminder to you that the scholastic book order is due tomorrow.  We were able to acquire some new books for our classroom last month including Robert Munsch’s “We Share Everything” which is all about sharing in kindergarten.

Please come and join us on October 24th from 10am-6pm for Parent/Teacher interviews. This year we are trying something new and would like to sit down with each family to showcase what the children have accomplished so far this year and the things that they are working on. The interview will take the place of our Interim Report and we would love to have the face -to-face contact with each family. Sign up sheets will be posted on the classroom door and you can sign up for time that will work best for you. We look forward to seeing you on October 24th.

We will be going to the Chilliwack Corn Maze this Wednesday, rain or shine.  We are praying for sun!

The bus will be leaving the school at 9:10 and we hope to arrive at the corn maze by 9:30.  If you are planning on helping out, please meet us there as promptly as possible as I will have a few students assigned to your care.  You will need to pay upon arrival.

Please have your child dress for the weather.  They do not need to wear their uniforms that day.  As we have had some rain I expect the grounds to be fairly mucky.  Rain boots would be great!  Please send along another pair of shoes for your child to wear when we get back to school.

We will be leaving the corn maze at 11:30 to return to the school.
