Kindie Korner Adventures

We Made It!

We made it!  Congratulations to each of you for making it through the first week of school at home.  Whether you call it “virtual school,” “distance education,” “remote learning” or something else, it was a huge learning curve for everyone.  Thank you to all of you for your dedication to your children.  Your love for them and connection with family should be of utmost importance. As I have said to some of you during our meetings or via email, if the choice is between cuddling and connection or completing school work, chose connection.  That being said, at the end of this first week you may be looking at activities on Freshgrade and feeling like you need to rush to complete things, or you may be feeling completely overwhelmed by the amount left.  Please don’t.  Don’t stress.  A lot of what we do in Kindergarten, as you will come to see, is repetitive in nature and we are exercising our language arts and math muscles all the time.  If you missed something, don’t worry.  There will opportunity for your child to do similar tasks in the days ahead.

This leads me to my next point.  I know you have been overwhelmed by the number of emails, blog posts, passwords etc that have been thrown your way over the past week.  If you need help retrieving something or getting back on to something, please let me know and I will do my best to help you.  One quick thing you can try is to search your email or the blog for the keywords you are looking for.  If you still need help, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  I will do my best to get back to you as soon as possible.

I will be uploading next week’s assignments on Monday.  My usual routine will be to upload them on Sunday night, but as Monday is a holiday, I will certainly not be expecting you to do school work on Monday.  Please remember the assignments I post are for the week.  Think about choosing a Language Arts, a Math and something else to do each day in addition to physical activity and reading.

Now, please go enjoy Easter with your family and know that you and your kindies are on my heart and in my prayers daily.
